What does Make a BIM do — and why it matters
Make a BIM provides an innovative, user-friendly solution for creating and analyzing measurable data for existing buildings. Our proprietary artificial intelligence automatically generates precise Building Information Models (BIM) from architectural drawings, saving significant time and cost compared to traditional manual modeling methods.
This enables the efficient production and utilization of data throughout a building's lifecycle — from new construction and renovations to demolition and materials recycling.
Which business pain point are we solving?
The inspiration for Make a BIM stemmed from our co-founder’s firsthand experience as a junior architect, where he spent countless work hours manually modeling existing buildings. Recognizing that this repetitive and inefficient task is duplicated across the construction value chain and throughout a building’s lifecycle, we saw a clear opportunity for automation.
Currently, a single renovation project can involve multiple companies manually modeling the same building in various formats, including BIM, CAD, or even Excel. This inefficiency is repeated with every new project. Our AI-powered solution automates the manual component of this work, so that experts can get to the value‑adding work faster.
What is our team background?
Our team’s expertise is rooted in innovation and getting things done. Since 2018, our co-founders have successfully developed and sold AI models across diverse industries to multinational enterprises. The core team was forged through numerous hackathon and innovation competitions, many of which we won.
The company was formed in 2023. Today, our team of seven professionals brings together deep knowledge in artificial intelligence, architecture, mathematics, finance, computer science, software engineering, and building information modeling. This multidisciplinary expertise provides a fantastic foundation for building the solution our users want — one that spreads like wildfire.
What is our current funding?
In 2024, Make a BIM successfully closed a pre-seed funding round with support from Kiilto Ventures, Innovestor, and prominent angel investors from the Finnish Business Angels Network. Many of these investors are post‑exit founders who recognize the significant market potential of our solution, including Kim Väisänen from the Finnish version of the “Shark Tank” television series.
